Welcome to Alaska’s Gone Fishin’ Lodge

Alaska! The name alone triggers the imagination. Who hasn’t dreamed of exploring the last frontier, the “Great Land”! If you cut Alaska in half, it would make Texas the third largest state. It has 17 of the 20 highest mountains in the United States and 19 peaks over 14,000 feet, one of which is Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain on the North American continent, standing at 20,230 feet high. There are 29 active volcanoes, 24-hour daylight, (the land of the midnight sun), 24-hour nights, over 100,000 glaciers, three million lakes, more coastline than the lower 48 states combined and the Aurora Borealis, the spectacular Northern Lights. Not to mention the tremendous wildlife species on the ground, in the air and all the aquatic species in the oceans, rivers, lakes and streams, this truly is the Great Land!

Our Story

At the Gone Fishin’ Lodge, we decided in the beginning that we wanted to give people the opportunity to experience not only the tremendous fishing that we have, but to also experience the exhilarating beauty of Alaska combined with their fishing trips. I always tell people who want to go sightseeing that we do that every day; we just have a fishing pole in our hands while we’re sightseeing!
Gone Fishin’ Lodge is owned and operated by Ralph Crystal and Richard Bowen, whose passion for fishing and hospitality has been the cornerstone of our success. Ralph and Richard’s commitment to providing exceptional service ensures that every guest feels like part of the family. Under their guidance, the lodge has become a trusted destination for anglers seeking both great fishing experiences and adventure for 30 years!

What We Offer

Prime Fishing Location:

The Gone Fishin’ Lodge is located in south central Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula, 150 miles south of Anchorage in a small town called Soldotna. Our lodge sits on the banks of the world-famous Kenai River, known for its Salmon fishing and the world record King Salmon caught on May 17th, 1985, weighing 97 lbs. 4 oz. The Kenai has two runs each year of King, Sockeye, and Silver Salmon. Our lodge offers easy access to the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers, plus the Cook Inlet and Gulf of Alaska.

Guided and Self-Guided Trips:

All our fishing trips are professionally guided and include the rods, reels and bait. Whether you prefer the expertise of our seasoned guides or the independence of self-guided adventures, we cater to your preferences.

Comfortable Accommodations:

Our lodge can host up to 40 guests, with rooms for 2, 4 or up to 6 per room. The rooms are equipped with microwaves, full fridge/freezer, and a full private bathroom. We provide daily maid service. In our main lodge we have a large fully furnished kitchen that guests are welcome to use along with gas barbeques on our back deck.

Additional Amenities:

Enjoy a daily breakfast bar, on-site fish processing and freezing of your catch along with airline approved fish boxes for getting your fish home, a game room with a ping pong and pool table, plus laundry facilities.

Beyond Fishing

While fishing is at the heart of what we do, we also offer opportunities to experience Alaska's natural beauty. We have two different glacier and wildlife tours that we offer in two different locations to see more of Alaska’s beauty and wildlife! From bear viewing and glacier tours to wildlife photography and hiking, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
